It is worth noting that the company did not release any new theatrical films this quarter, in part because of the huge pressure caused by a double strike between writers and actors last year. Disney CEO Iger is currently trying to revive one of Disney's signature film entertainment businesses by delaying the release of some films to focus on film quality. The film division, which includes Disney studios, reported a sharp drop in sales of about 40% in the last quarter, with an operating loss of $18 million.
